Yellow Ideas
Color plays a strong role in a lot of photos. At some point we’ll do a black and white photo challenge but at the moment, let’s stick to color as it’s actually easier.
Yellow can be a strong and vibrant color. In this week’s challenge, we want to choose our subject so that either the subject is yellow or the highlights of yellow makes the subject stand out. The yellow truck above is the dominate subject of the photo and that’s pretty clear. The vibrant yellow of the truck really pops against the more muted colors of the green grass and blue sky.
The Bird of Paradise flower has a yellow plume. This vibrant color draws attention to the flower but is not all of the colors that matter. The purple and reds of the flower are also very important and complement the yellow.
In this photo, there’s a tree that is the dominate feature of the photo but the slightly muted yellows still make the park bench stand out. Without centering it or anything, it’s still a prominent feature of the photo.
