Converging Lines Ideas

This week’s challenge is converging lines. Converging lines are a way to draw the eyes of the viewer to where you want them to go. This can be a powerful tool to have in your back pocket when taking photos.

When you are setting up the shot, look at the lines in the photo. That could be structural, painted, beams of light or whatever is making lines in the eye of the camera. In this take a photo challenge, use those lines to draw the viewer’s eyes to where you want them to be looking.

The urban world is full of hard lines. Edges on sidewalks, awnings on buildings, painted lines in roads, hedges and more. These all create lines that you can use. This is part of the reason that train stations are almost cheating when it comes to photography. There are a ton of great lines and angles that you can use to frame your photos. In rural settings, try fences, trees, long blades of grass, roads and more.
