Willies In the Wild

Sometimes taking photos in the sun is exactly what you need. I thought about waiting for the “Golden Hour” where there’s softer light. That wasn’t the light I needed though. The lighting in this photo was perfect. It shows all of the flaws, rust and dent in great detail.

As a car lover, I was incredibly sad to see the rust. As a photographer, the rust on these Willies’ really set off against the golden grass surrounding it. I was in Virginia City, Montana on vacation when I saw these Willies Jeeps. I’ve always wanted to own one of them. There were 3 or 4 of them around town in different corners and all in various forms of decay.
