Snow day by the lake

This is a photo of a dock near my house covered in snow. It’s a beautiful little dock that is on Lake Sammamish in Bellevue, WA.

I’ve stood on the dock a number of times here but this is the first time that I had seen it with snow. The snowy day really silhouetted the dock in an interesting way. The white dock with the light grey cloud cover that had recently dropped the snow paired really well. I thought about even going black and white with this one to really concentrate on the shapes and edges but decided that I loved the muted colors so much it I left it alone. 

In this photo, I really liked the geometry in the bottom of the photo and the softness of the clouds in the top. The juxtaposition made for an interesting photo.
